The cycle is real.

You get excited about something new. You dive in. Then… it starts feeling overwhelming. Maybe you lose momentum. Maybe you overthink sharing it. Maybe you stop altogether.

I’ve been there. But I’ve also found a few things that help.

If you want to learn faster, stay inspired, and actually put your work out there, here’s what’s worked for me:

1. Make Learning Active, Not Passive

Watching tutorials is great, but if you don’t apply what you learn, it won’t stick.

  • Write out what you just learned in your own words.

  • Try explaining it to someone else.

  • Use it in a real project as soon as possible

How can you actively use what you’re learning?

2. Follow Your Curiosity (Even When It Feels Random)

I used to think I needed a perfectly structured plan. But some of my biggest breakthroughs happened when I followed ideas that just felt interesting—even if they didn’t seem relevant at first.

  • The podcast recommendation that expanded my view on the world

  • The synth rabbit hole that changed how I approach songwriting

  • The random book that made me rethink creativity altogether

It’s all connected. Stay open to what excites you.

3. Share Before You Feel “Ready”

Most people wait too long to share their work. I used to be one of them.

But here’s the thing: Posting isn’t about being perfect—it’s about progress.

When I started uploading drum covers, my videos weren’t polished. But I posted anyway. And because of that, I improved faster.

Want to fast-track your growth? Make sharing a part of your learning process.

I want to add one more thing, this stuff takes time. You are going to have ups and downs, that’s just how life works. The point is to get a little better every try.

Remember, motivation follows action.

TL;DR

  • Learn by doing, not just watching.

  • Follow what interests you—you never know where it’ll lead.

  • Share your work before you feel “ready.”
